On the weekend of December 30-31 at all of our worship services, Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday morning at 8, 9, and 11 a.m., our worship will include a “Service of Family Blessing”. There will be a time during the service, as the congregation sings Christmas carols, when everyone will have the opportunity to come forward and receive a special blessing for the new year from one of our pastors. The blessing goes like this:

“O Lord, bless this family in the New Year.
Provide for their daily needs.
Grant them good health.
Bless them with your protection and safekeeping,
that they may serve you.
Give them the gift of peace that they may live in
harmony with one another.”
In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Remember that families come in all shapes and sizes. A family may consist of one person or 15 people. As the saying goes, “family is what you make it.” Whether made of blood relatives or close and supportive friends, you may be a family. Please join us for the “Service of Family Blessing” and begin the New Year with a special prayer of blessing for you and your loved ones.
