Book Group Reading Schedule

  • September 25, 2023 – The Four Winds: A Novel by Kristin Hannah. The Four Winds is a rich, sweeping novel that stunningly brings to life the Great Depression and the people who lived through it—the harsh realities that divided us as a nation and the enduring battle between the haves and the have-nots. A testament to hope, resilience, and the strength of the human spirit to survive adversity.
  • October 23, 2023 – The Pastor by Minnesota author Ed Treat. Pastor Brian must navigate the swirling demands of daily parish ministry, of being a good husband and father, and of dealing with his own challenging emotions as a recovering alcoholic as he tries to minister to this family and make sense of what really happened to Candy Vinter.
  • November 27, 2023 – The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult. In this searingly honest novel, Jodi Picoult gracefully explores the lengths to which we will go in order to keep the past from dictating the future.
  • January 22, 2024 – The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson. From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson compares this epic migration to the migrations of other peoples in history.
  • February 26, 2024 – Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. In this novel, we are reminded that sometimes taking a hard look at the past can help uncover a future that once felt impossible.
  • March 25, 2024 – The Indigo Girl: A Novel by Natasha Boyd. This book is set between 1739 and 1744, with romance, intrigue, forbidden friendships, and political and financial threats weaving together to form the story of a remarkable young woman whose actions were before her time.
  • April 22, 2024 – Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine: A Novel by Gail Honeyman. This uplifting story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine is soon to be a major motion picture produced by Reese Witherspoon.
