Live Production Focuses on Stories of Domestic Violence
Returning to the stage after its original performance in 2023, ‘Flight’ is offering shows in January. The live production follows the true stories of four individuals affected by domestic violence. Interwoven with their stories are songs and movement that more fully express the depth of despair and courageous hope that accompanied them along the way. A performance of “Flight” will take place at Zion Friday, January 23 at 7 pm. For more information check out the flyer and other information at the Zion Welcome Desk. Additional performances of the play are at 7 p.m. January 15-17 and 2 p.m. January 18 at the Elision Playhouse in Crystal.
This production is in partnership with the Anoka County Violence Prevention Roundtable. There will be a resource fair dedicated to local groups working on domestic violence prevention and support. The Silent Witness Exhibit will be on display and refreshments will be provided after the performance. All performances will feature an optional post-show discussion with staff from The Dwelling Place, a faith-based organization providing healing and hope to victims of domestic abuse through supportive services and a safe, transitional place to call home.
