Zion Holds 41st Lutefisk Dinner

Zion Lutheran Church held its 41st Lutefisk Dinner on December 3. This holiday event is an annual tradition for many with some families attending for more than 20 years! Although not required, each year Scandinavian sweaters are the unofficial “dress code”. Fun facts about this year’s dinner:

  • 615 people attended.
  • 450 lbs. of lutefisk were consumed.
  • 150 lbs. of meat balls were served.
  • 150 lbs. of potatoes were mashed.
  • All rosettes and krumkaka were made at Zion by volunteers.

New this year was piano entertainment by Zion members Kristine Johnson and Deb Oas Koepsell. Guests were also able to purchase lefse, lingonberries and herring to support upcoming Zion youth summer trips. Mark your calendars now for the next Lutefisk Dinner to be held on December 2, 2019! ■
