Created 15 years ago as a way to reach out to neighbors in need, Manna Market continues to provide free groceries for residents of Fridley, Columbia Heights, Hilltop and Spring Lake Park. Every Tuesday, 45-60 volunteers from different backgrounds and faiths work morning, afternoon, or all-day shifts, organizing and bagging food donations, as well as directing traffic in and out of the church parking lot. A variety of food items are available, typically including fruits, vegetables, breads, meats, snacks, and desserts. Recently, crews helped sort food donations collected by local mail carriers during their yearly food drive.
